About Civic Impact Hub
Civic Impact Hub is where residents report the everyday problems of their neighbourhood — and where the government's response is public.
A pothole, a broken streetlight, a blocked drain: you report it once, with a photo and a location. Your report becomes a Case — a public record with a reference number that anyone can follow. The department responsible sees it, and what they do about it happens in the open: every status change, every official update, is on the Case page for everyone to see.
Your name is never public. You take part under an Alias you choose. Your real identity — your email address — stays private, visible to no other resident, no official, and no public page.
Your exact location is yours to hide. When you report, you choose whether the public sees the precise spot or an approximate area about 200 m across. The responding department always sees the exact point — that is what fixing it takes — but the public map never has to.
What you see is honest. During the pilot, some Cases are curated from published reporting — newspapers, government publications — by accounts we operate. Those accounts never claim to have seen the problem firsthand, and every curated Case names its source. As residents report for themselves, curated content steps back.
Civic Impact Hub is run as a pilot with participating Lagos government departments. It is not a government body, and it is not an emergency service — for emergencies, use the emergency numbers.
